Does Continuum work with USB Type-C to HDMI adapter? (without dock)

Hi, I know Continuum works with Miracast or using the dock but I wonder if it works with a standard USB Type-C to HDMI adaptor like this:

+ a standard HDMI cable without using a dock?

I asked the same question (well, HDMI or DisplayPort) during Daniel's AMA last week, and his reply was that he was going to try to get a hold of said adapters and try. Still waiting.

At the very least, it should be possible with a software update. The dock is just a fancy DisplayPort interface with optional HDMI converter and a USB 2.0 hub.
