This is on a HP3130 desktop, my internet connection is Verizon wireless

If it's been less than 30 days and you haven't deleted the previous version of Windows, then you're good to go without (much) data (only for activation probably).
If you deleted your previous Windows version or it's been 30 days or you installed the Fall update over Windows 10 RTM, then you're stuck.
