Okay, thanks. Even though I didn't find any reference to Lumia 650 online, I thought it does support voLTE because I read somewhere that Lumia 550 supports it. But I wanted to be sure about it. Hence, I posted the question in the forum. It's too bad that it doesn't support it. Anyway, thank you once again for the reply.

It depends on your carrier if your carrier allows VoLTE and also whether your phone supports VoLTE, both LTE and VoLTE are very different and phones marked as LTE could have VoLTE if the software vendor provides an update to enable it.

It is hugely depepndent on SOC too snapdragon 400+ supports VoLTE , while lumia 650 with SD 220 will likely wont.

Correction: After further analysis of VoLTE ompatibility with SOCs, i have compiled a list:
It includes these Snapdragon chipsets:- 210, 400, 410, 415, 425, 430, 435, 615, 616, 617, 625, 650, 652, 800, 801, 805, 808, 810, 820, 821 and 823.

These are list for Mediatek once :- MT6752, MT6753, MT6755 (a.k.a. Helio p10), MT6795 (a.k.a. Helio x10), MT6797 (a.k.a. Helio x20), MT6757 (a.k.a. Helio p20).

though many other too support VoLTE but the above mentioned are the most commonly available in the market. Also to enble it on LTE devices Microsoft has to push for an firmware update.

Thanks Aditya for the detailed analysis. So, apparently SD 212 in Lumia 650 doesn't support VoLTE whereas SD 210 in Lumia 550 does. But isn't the former supposed to be an upgrade to the latter?

Oh yes, you're right. On their website, it's clearly mentioned that it supports VoLTE. You made my day brother. :)

Yes, I'm planning to switch to Jio from Airtel but haven't decided yet. But you know, nowhere in the list of devices that supports Jio sim have they mentioned Lumia 650. Like what Aditya said earlier, it also depends on the carrier.

Anyway thanks Deepak for sharing this information. :)

One of the UK networks that provides VoLTE services (they refer to it as 4G calling) lists the 650 as one of the phones that's compatible with this service on its network - 4G Calling | Help | EE

Whilst they don't specify differences between the single and dual sim variants of this phone, I'm assuming that it ought to be both - unless someone knows otherwise?

I suppose there wouldn't be any difference. However, the network operator must support the device.

Here in India, we have only one operator that provides VoLTE service but unfortunately they haven't listed Lumia 650 among the compatible devices.
