Does Nokia Lumia 735 work in Japan?

Yes, works perfectly. The Sim cards tourists can buy are only for internet, not calling.

You have to set up everything by hand, APN and such. Don't be surprised that it says "not connected". It took me 30 minutes to set up with countless reboots. Confusing, but then it worked flawlessly.
