Does putting a dust plug into a Lumia Icon mute it?

I've had this problem with my Lumia 928 thinking it has earphones plugged in when I had a dust plug on.

Hoping the Icon doesn't have this problem too!

If the dust plug goes in to far it should give the same problem because the jack is the same.

I went through several 928s w audio jack troubles, which is part of why I upgraded to the Icon: zero issues with it on the Icon. Never used a dust plug though. I'm just guessing your problem was w the 928 not the dust plug.

I would expect any phone to exhibit similar behavior since it is an object being plugged in there.

I'm getting my Icon tomorrow!

I ordered a dust plug anyway. Just for looks since it was cute, but I'll update this post if it does mute the phone in case anyone is wondering in the future.
