Can i upgrade to wwindows 10 for my Nokia lumia 525 ? Can it cause any damage to my phone ?

U can of course upgrade it to windows 10. It will be available later this year. There will be no damage to your mobile.

Basically there will be no damage but if you for example run out of battery or switch off your phone during the update you will have a problem.
So before you update backup your stuff
