Does the Lumia 640 suffer from the touch issues the 1520 does?

I've got a Lumia 1520 , that unfortunately I've had for only 2-3 weeks, and the screen is going nuts. I've read that the screen issues tend to be from carrying in the pocket with the screen facing inward towards your leg, so since day 1 I've carried the phone in a pouch in my belt but just started seeing the same problems everyone else has complained about. Too bad the phone was used - it's not covered by any sort of warranty so I'm stuck with it.

I've been considering picking up a Lumia 640 for cheap - you can't beat $80! Does this phone suffer from the same touch (or screen acting like it's being touched when it's not!) issues that the Lumia 1520 does?

And if I used a regular AT&T SIM in an AT&T Go-Phone , would I run into any problems?

Thanks in advance!

I made this switch. Only touch issue I've seen on the 640 is if you're going to keep it in your pocket, turn off double tap to wake.

You will need a micro SIM to mini SIM adapter, but those are cheap. No problems with the SIM card however.

Thank you. I planned on picking mine up from the AT&T store - I figure they can just give me the proper SIM for the 640 without having to go the adapter route :-)

Now all I have to do is explain to my wife why I spent $80 on the 640 when I just bought the 1520 a few weeks ago.... that's going to be the hardest part LOL

I too had the 1520 before the 640. (for almost two years!) The 640 does not suffer from the same touch issues. The battery life is the only downside I've seen from switching.

I can deal with less battery life - I'm used to charging every night when I go to bed so I can have full charge when I get up in the morning. Good to know that it doesn't have the touch problems !!!!!!!

Seriously though - I'm going to sandwich this phone (the 1520) between two pieces of wood and hit it with a hammer a few times... chalk it up to an accident while at work today since I get home before she does... Should be a good enough reason to have to buy another phone.

640 battery life is on par with the 1520. If that's not your experience, you have a bad phone or background app issues.

All the touch issues you'll find are those on IE, that is, it's not a touch issue, it's a freaking IE freeze when the capaticive buttons don't work.
