Yes the surface pro 4 has windows hello built-in (facial recognition - not an iris scanner)

Yep its facial. It uses IR as well to detect your face presumably alongside other metrics. If you have sunlight shining on your face then it won't work. Other than that it works in a dark room which is awesome. It's a really neat feature and I love it !
