Yes, it's compatible with microsofts Hello, it allows facial recognition, it's quite handy.
 
There is no 3D scanning hardware capability built-in.

And I know that the iPad does not have that either. (unless its a feature in the Pro I haven't heard of)

However there is an infrared thingie used for Windows Hello biometric authentication.

The infrared thinggie is a 3d scanner / sensor? That's how it captures your face and knows it is you, it uses infrared to do it, so it' sobviously not capable of much, but it's still 3d. The isense camera is just the name of the camera, like " pixelsense " display, this guy must have taken it literally.
