I'm going to be using this for school, which is why I'll be using the stylus alot. So just like the title says, does it come with the new stylus? From what I understand, there is a new one because the first left trails when you lifted the pen. Any answers are much obliged, thank you kindly :D
Edit- I just thought of this, does it also come fully updated with firmware from dell and windows updates?

When I bought my venue 8 pro, it did not come with a stylus; if you have an existing one you can use it.

To answer your other question, there is a chance you may need to update your tablet; it may not be fully updated out of the box.

As far as I know if bought new from Dell it won't come with a stylus.
I'm sure if you buy the stylus directly as an accessory from Dell it will be the new version.

I have the first version stylus and it does freak-out quite a bit.

The Active Stylus is NOT packaged with the tablet.

You can get the stylus cheaper than at Dell and you are correct that there is a newer version. Revision A02 is the most current and is actually the third model (original + 2 revisions). My Rev A02 stylus works flawlessly thus far with my Dell Venue 8 Pro. I recommend getting one as it makes things like browser buttons and task tray icons much easier to manipulate as well as giving you great, fine point stylus input for notes and drawing.

RDo some searching on Amazon and eBay... Just make sure it states Rev A02.

If you've been using one of those large pad type styli, you will love the active.

Hovering over the object is like resting your mouse pointer on it. Tap = left click. Press the down rocker button and tap = right click. Press the up rocker button = erase. And the fine point = better notes by FAR.
