Virtual Reality [Help]

I am thinking of getting a virtual reality headset (maybe a google cardboard or any similar cheap one)
I have some questions. It'll be great if anybody could answer them

1. Windows Phone supports virtual reality headsets like Google Cardboard ??
2. if yes, Lumia 640 XL supports Google Cardboard ??
3. Is there any good app or game available for Windows Phone which works with VR ??

Re: Virtual Reality [Help]

InMind VR makes use of Google Cardboard. As far as I know it should support every smartphone

Re: Virtual Reality [Help]

You can even make yourself one, if you feel to. You just need a printer, paper and the free pdf file in the Google Cardboard page (and maybe some cardboard to make it more resistant to the smartphone weight)

It costs just ₹99 so I'll just buy it instead :)
Do you know any good VR app or game available for WP

Hi, same here.. I have a lumia 640 xl too and I needed a VR headset.
I see that your question was a while ago so did u buy the google cardboard ? if u did.. how is it going ? does the phone even fit ? what did u manage to do generally :D ?

Re: Virtual Reality [Help]

InMind VR requires a gyroscope thats why it doesn't supports Lumia 640 XL.
Is there any other game or app ??

There is no Gyroscope in the 640XL?? I guess I'm going to cancel my order for a VR headset on Amazon! Thanks for the heads up!!

Hi there, is there any way even for Nokia Lumia 635 (with 512 MB Ram) to install Inmind VR Headset or Cardboard VR headset? I wonder if anybody knows about that or have an issue about it. Thanks.

I don't know exactly why Microsoft has not gotten into the XBOX VR market. However, windows phones can run blender games. Blender games can be configured to be in VR: Virtual Reality Simple Field of View Restricter | Blend Swap. The effort to translate these games would be minimal for Microsoft. That is you just have to hire the blend artist and Blender game developers instead of the usual legacy programmers hanging around Seattle. Come to San Diego
