Does your SP4 have a microphone boost option?

On my SP4 (i7), neither the microphone array nor the headset mic have the "microphone boost" option (see screenshot below). The Microsoft Surface Support team is telling me it's a device issue and that my SP4 needs to be replaced. Not having the boost option is a problem because my headset mic audio is so low, others can't hear it.

I'm wondering if it's just my device, or if all SP4s have this issue. So...

> recording tab
> select a recording device and click properties button
> levels tab

No option there.

SP4 I7 here.. no boost option. Are you sure its supposed to even be there?

I checked my desktop and there i have it.
I checked my SP4 i5 and no boost.
So i guess its a hardware thing, but it seems its not there on any SP4.

I'd be interested in what microsoft technical support who wanted you to replace your hardware would have to say about this.. LOL! I've found their support abysmal.

Agreed on the abysmal support. I'll update here when I get a reply from them.

Nope. And my 6 month old 4 pro just completely died the other day for no apparant reason. Least it's under warranty.
