Doplar radar won't zoom

It doesn't matter what weather app I use, when I zoom in on radar, the radar data doesn't increase in resolution and looks blocky. Any idea what I can do to fix this? It's been happening for a while, but with severe thunderstorms coming back, I really need to get it fixed.
