Drop down menu problem ...

We have problems with drop down menus in ie10 for windows phone 8.

Does ie11 on windows phone 8.1 solve this ???

I think if you have faced issues regarding specific sites in ie 10. You should try opening the same sites in ie 11. Mainly websites running a lot of scripts cause issues. So check out and do let us know what you find :-)

Try rknec.edu
Try flipkart.com
Try Walmart.com
It just doesn't seem to work on a windows phone.
At the same time it opens without any problems on an Android phone.
Now that's annoying .....

This isn't an answer that you're going to like, but...
"Fancy" websites rely on reacting to "mouse over" and "click" events. Since there's no concept of "finger over," Apple decided that the way to make existing websites work on touch devices is to translate the first tap on something as "mouse over" and the second tap as "click." Android's browser is based on much of the same source code as Apple's so it got the same event remapping.

Microsoft decided that Apple's approach was limited in that it only addressed the issue of a single mouse becoming a single finger. MS devised an improved "pointer model" to augment/replace the long-standing "mouse model" and, after some revisions, got the W3C to accept it as a new standard.

However, the Apple method works when developers do nothing while the Microsoft one doesn't. Worse yet, Apple and Google don't yet support the standard so there's little incentive for web developers to support it. There's no solid word on whether or not MS will deviate from the new standard to use the non-standard Apple method. So, you can feel superior in that your browser supports the latest web standards for user interaction model, but you can't get anything done on the vast majority of sites that expect the old ways.

Does any browser in the windows phone marketplace work with drop down menus the way it is on Android and ios ???

They have fixed it on WP 8.1 - Tap and hold on a drop down menu. If the context menu shows up (it does if the drop down target is also a link) just tap somewhere else or hit the back button to dismiss it and the drop down menu will stay shown.
