Edge browser hijacked by some loop. How can I get it out of the loop?

Edge browser hijacked by some loop.

edge browser hijacked by looping website. close with task manager only to open to same hijack. clear history, data, reset homepage... Ran windows defender, AdAware, still fighting..

Disconnect your computer from the internet via one of the following methods:

Turn on Airplane Mode (Laptop)
Unplug Network Cable from either computer or router. (Desktop)
Disable your "Local Area Connection" by right clicking on it in Network Settings, Ethernet, Change Adapter Options (Desktop)

Open Edge and Close the offending Tabs
Open Edge again, click home
Close Edge

Reconnect to the Internet

I'm having the same issue, you cannot close the tabs as suggested, the entire page is grayed out and the only selection available is from a popup that notifies you of a virus attack and to call their 800 number to get your system restored. Task Manager is the only method of closing Edge.
Edge is no longer usable and there are no apps installed to delete and restore the program. Malware bytes was ineffective in removing the malware. Any help on this is appreciated!
