email not syncing across devices

When I get an email on my phone, and I opened it and delete it, the action isn't recognized on my computer. Even when I "refresh" my inbox on my computer (running Windows 8) it still shows the same email I just deleted on my phone. Any ideas how to correct this issue? Everything was working fine until today
 
I should have added, I have checked the settings and they are set to "as item arrives"
 
I have the same issue, but I have always had this issue with windows phone. iOS and Android update changes to the mail server immediately. Always thought it was odd WP did this.
 
Work around I have been getting into the habit of doing is hitting SYNC after reading an email.
 
It's hit or miss with me. I'm a GMail user and that's one of the things I like anout using Android phones. But I will have sync issues with any other platform. I'm not sure if it's Google not playing well with other OS's or what.

^^^ This. My guess is it's not automatically pinging the server to delete it. However, if you sync it, the mail will get deleted...
