Email on Surface Pro 4

What app/program is everyone using for email on the Surface Pro 4 and why? I have (2) gmail accounts and seem to find the built in email client to Windows 10 randomly brings emails and takes forever to send out read receipts. Therefore I have moved on to the trial version of mailbird and it seems serviceable. I am coming from a Mac for the past 4 years and the built in Mac Mail was not so bad. Love the surface and am hoping to find the best way to use mail on it!

Outlook 2016. Gmail is utter rubbish. The functionality is more robust

Yeah outlook looks like a relic but it's so reliable. The windows 10 mail app is terrible for Gmail. So unreliable. Attachments often fail with that app or take forever to download.

Outlook 2016 with the dark theme looks pretty fantastic.
