I think its great that Chinese Cortana has an animated face...but for the English and Americans and Europe shouldn't we have more then a blue orb? I mean..if its Cortana from halo then shouldn't we have an image of Cortana when she speaks? Maybe her face taking up the whole screen or even her whole body just like it is in the game. At least then it will stand out from siri and google talk (or whatever its called)

I appreciate that different people want to have different things but in the UK if cortana's voice will change to an English accent and its a blue orb then no one one will know what Cortana's history is about. We need our own mascot and Cortana would be great as a face on the screen. So many xbox owners with android/apple phones would be blown away and that may sway them to get a windows phone

Having the real image of Cortana in your phone would be amazing. But then again, most people don't know she's an AI from a video game, combine that with her nude body, and they'll probably think you're some kind of a pervert. Also, if she would have her face used, she needs to have a wide range of movements for her face. That's probably something some phones won't be able to handle.

That's true with the face animation but then again....it might be able to pull off... Just the mouth and eyebrows moving as she talks..might not be too hard. But it would be a good move for Microsoft to make halo more then a blue ring I think. The Chinese version has personality

No, I won't like to look into a realistic face or something of that sort. It's cool to give your PA an identity, but the aesthetic likes of people are so much different, so it will be hard to suit each and everybody's liking.

Personally (and I mean absolutely no offense to gamers or anyone else), I didn't know who Cortana was before I got my phone a couple weeks ago, and while it's kind of interesting that she has a background story (mostly because I totally impress people when I casually mention that I need to "ask Cortana" something), I honestly don't really care about that part, just because it has no significance to me, so I'm quite happy with a generic symbol. I do agree though that it might be nice to have options to choose from. The Chinese version is adorable.

I think it would be cool to have a family or Cortana avatars from different regions. If anything Microsoft should have a small competition for people to design a simplistic Cortana avatar for their respective region. Maybe keep Asia as what was done for the Chinese, North America as the blue orb, EU could be something else, etc.
