Error 1401 - Cannot update windows

[Windows Central Question]

Hi. After I got a Blue-Screen situation, I had to restart my laptop manually. Then after I boot windows, I cannot neither update my windows nor installing/updating any other software.

Today I tried to update my graphic card, I downloaded the auto detect from AMD website and it downloaded the setup and everything but it couldn't install the new driver due to this 1401 insufficient problem.

Yep I have an external HDD I can do that. But I guess wiping off the drive should be the very last step for us. I don't think we'are that desperate yet

Well it's been a while since I last time installed a windows but I mostly use bootable disk

I'm getting stumped. This error 1401 is interesting...

Got anything yet?

Maybe try repairing through "setup.exe"
