Error 8018830f or 80188306 FIXED!

Not fixed, now getting 0x80188308 error instead.

Back up your phone via settings--backup -- apps +settings -- backup now. also backup ur phone by copying ur pics, video, etc via Windows Explorer (browse to the phone storage) download and install nokia software recovery tool, plug your phone im amd let it restore the os to 8.0.Then attach the MS acct (do not restore the backup above yet)and install only preview for developers and then reenable the preview again. check for update. install all the updates. once you have 8.1 update 1. perform a factory reset and then once you're at oobe (out of box experience), set the option to restore your backup from step 1. and you're all set.

No just nooooo I've said it before and i'll say it again... We should not have to do all of this for an update. The problem is sth MS needs to fix.. Of course there are some that have done this and I don't blame them But I won't waste my time unless absolutely necessary

I used to have the same 30f error.....but today it updated itself without me doing anything....so I think the error is fixed...i have l625

I don't believe that the 30f and the 306/308 errors are the same.. the 306/308 prolly has to do with the amount of free space available. All the users with 30f error said that they were able to download the update, but it would stall during the preparing to install phase

8018830f error in only fixed for Lumia 625/925 but no any solution for Lumia 630/930. I hope today they will fix it. Because, now we have hope that they are doing something at least.

Lumia 925 with DP 8.1 + Lumia Cyan. Tried today at 11 AM Indian standard time. I am still getting the same problem.

I am going to do a factory reset on Saturday to WP 8.0 + Amber and then try. I tried in the past but Nokia suite failed to detect my phone.

That's what I was saying that Lumian 625/925 are able to install. 630/930 users have to wait.

To each their own. Some of us know MS engineers dropped the ball. This is a case of whether you want to wait till they are headsure or you simply dont want to wait any longer and want it now.

The steps i enumerated worked for me and countless of others. Nobody should go through these steps to get updates but it's an option for others. Either these users with errors put up with the **** MS engineers or simply take matters into their own hands if there are tools to help.

As of this writing, i still dont have cyan on my NL920 Rogers unlocked but I have got the Update 1 atleast via the Nokia Software Recovery tool. So until MS and Rogers get their heads together, I'll keep riding the dp program wave.

Lol yes! I have been around for awhile so yeah but they worked pretty fast on this one
