Did you try turning off location services? I've heard that can help with the overheating.
Disabling Location services is something I do not want to do. I use it for too many things, and my phone would be pretty much useless without it.Pretty sure the TP has the phone working overtime on the ram, try disabling location services and any other features you may have enabled, you can also try activating the battery saving setting so that it'll disable stuff when at 20% or below battery.
Activating battery saver can prevent my phone from entering quiet hours, which I also must have. Then again, quiet hours doesn't seem to work properly anyway.
I'm not really worried about trying to make the phone behave nicer or perform "workarounds" at this time. I'm not doing the tech preview because I want something higher end than 8.1. If that was the case, I never would have jumped. My whole reason is to find these issues and report them to Microsoft to help them create a better product.
I guess I should have been more clear about this. I'm not posting problems here in order to "complain" or to "find a workaround." I'm posting problems here so that others can be aware of it... especially others who may be trying to determine if it is okay to put it on their daily driver, which many people may look to this particular thread to help them determine that.
Wish I could help there. Can't find anything. Would love to know the answer, if for no other reason but to help others.I have it on my daily driver (830) and I really really like it. The only real bug I'm having is that the apps don't show up in battery saver and therefore I can't keep some apps from running in the background. I think I remember reading about that in another thread. Anyone have any idea if you can disable background apps any other way?
