External Display

I just hooked up an external display and I love it, but is it possible to turn off the SP3 screen and continue just to use the larger monitor? I've never run a display like this so my experience is limited in this area. Any suggestions?

In the charms bar, when you to to devices and you select your monitor you can choose to extend, duplicate, or use the external display only.

Gotcha, So I have to "use external only" to get the SP3 to shutdown it's built in display?

Thanks for the help guys! Found a new problem though, one a question can't fix. Looks like my new monitor has three dead pixels at the bottom bezel.

Take back the monitor to whoever you bought it from and get a replacement
