Why uploading pictures on facebook takes forever?

Coz it doesn't compress them and uploads in highest res possible. Which is kinda cool sometimes. There should really be a toggle for this.
Messenger app , however, compresses the images first.

Images are compressed on WhatsApp.
For video , and assuming you have WP8.1 , you can use : Video Compressor | Windows Phone Apps+Games Store (United States)
