Facebook App redirect to mobile site

As the title states, having a problem on my mom's Lumia 1020 (ATT/WP8.1), some items in her notifications redirect out of the app to the mobile site, this is annoying for images that then do not fill the frame within IE. Is this normal or is something funky here?

this is called virus you have use play store to download face book app

There are no viruses on WP and we don't have a 'Play' store.

There are certain actions that force a user to go to the mobile website instead of the app. I believe viewing some images is one of them.

Does she have the latest version of the app?

I put the Beta on her phone, so yeah I think so.
Hmm that's annoying, it is mostly posts with images, so I guess that's the issue.

I checked my version of the app, I'm not running beta, but I was able to view images. Maybe try the non beta?

I have the problem on Facebook, Twitter and even ebay....(crap, ebay will go to the WAP site and you cant do anything on it, not even bid or view things for sale).

This is a bug...I hope MS addresses...or I need to no longer use IE...
