I recently joined FB and now it has taken over my phone. I dont know if it's some kind of security glitch or supposed to be a feature, but suddenly everyone's photo albums are meshed in with my camera roll. Also, my calender reminds me of all kinds of events that are going on in FB that I didn't put in there. And I am now forced to see who's birthday it is because the person's name is on my lock screen and calendar tile the whole day before and during, with no way to take it off that I can see. Is this neccessary? When I go to contacts on my phone, theres my Hotmail messenger photo and the last thing I posted in FB in quotes next to my picture. I think you can unlink FB friends from your contact list but with so much social information being uploaded in all sections of my phone, Im afraid to hit the wrong button..

With photos, I dont think there's a way to stop them showing up in the pictures hub, but are you sure you are seeing them in your camera roll? They should only appear when you go to albums, that shows all the photo albums from Skydrive and Facebook as well as camera roll and saved pics if you have them.

In calendar, go to Settings and scroll all the way down and check the box for "only show FB events ive responded to'. Also you can turn off the FB calendar completely, just like any other calendar.

For your contacts, seeing your last status post is normal, whether its from FB, twittter, linkedin or Windows Live. You can go into the People hub settings and set which contacts from which service you want to be shown.

LOL! It's pretty overwhelming at first. The same thing happened to me.

Is there any way to "confirm" Facebook events and birthdays so they're not stuck on the screen for two days, or the only option is to turn it off and not get notified at all?

I don't have my WP yet... hopefully this weekend. With the facebook integration, will i get flooded with those farmville posts? I sure hope not... they don't come through on my blackberry.

For events u can accept or deny them from the Facebook app or the site, and for bdays it doesn't sync them all, only the ones that u already had in ur phonebook that also have Facebook accounts, at least that's my case. The birthday calendar can also be turned off in calendar settings.

nope don't see none of that in my people hub.

In the contacts screen, I opened settings-> filter my contact list-> unchecked hotmail and facebook-> done. Now I have NO contacts at all! Am I doing something wrong?

Calender - settings - toggle off any of the Facebook events/birthdays or Windows Live Birthdays or you could just tick the box - "Only show Facebook events I've responded to".

Wallah.

My mistake..they're in the people section of my pictures. I never knew that was there because I never had Facebook before. It kinda surprised me to see other people's photo albums on my phone!

your contacts would all be from windows live (hotmail), don't uncheck that

thats right...(duh) lol. So since this phone doesn't integrate with backup assistant, does that mean if I get a new phone I can find my contacts stored somewhere in my hotmail account?

I'm not sure what farmville is, but I get alot of posts on my phone from things I put in the 'profile' page in FB like favorite bands and things like that. Which is sorta cool..but not really.

There is a problem with the Facebook app for WP, and MS is looking at this problem closely trying to solve it. They'll update the app soon as they fix this issue..
