I believe there isn't a Facebook Messenger for WP, could be wrong but that is what I believe. So my question is with all the smiley's I have on my Android app -- if someone sends those to me, can I see them, or does WP not know what they are? Anyone who currently has a WP can you try it out and see what happens?

Also the smiley can we *might* not see now, are going to be thing of a past with a influx of whole bunch of additional smiley that are now on WP8

Does the integrated facebook chat support group chat? I want to switch to WP8 from Android but I've come to use the Facebook Messenger app a lot, it is basically the only app I really 'need' currently. I use group chats extensively to organise things with friends etc and have basically got rid of the need to sms unless it is urgent. I believe that you can only message people over facebook if they're online, so I assume this isn't possible.

If not, are there at least notifications from the facebook app for when I do receive a message from one of these chats so that I can use the app/browser to reply?

The messenger app on iOS and Android really is fantastic, it's amazing it actually comes from facebook.

Based in my experience with windows phone 7 integrated hub, apparently there are no changes in WP8 but it's not a final word:

1. Facebook group chat isn't supported, I need to confirm but I think you can only see the messages from who created the group chat
2. You can't recieve messages being offline, nor will they sync once you turn online (Biggest complain)
3. You can send messages to offline contacts
4. You can't receive messages from offline contacts (Not sure)
5. There is no indication if a contact is using mobile chat, contact will be displayed as offline
6. Facebook groups are not implemented
