Facebook/Twitter Notifications

I recently switched from Blackberry>iOS>Android>WP7 (lumia 900). So far, the OS is great.

There is 1 thing, however, that is driving me nuts. The Facebook and Twitter apps are near useless for notifications. Most of the time they are delayed by 20 or 30 minutes or I don't get them at all. I haven't found one app yet that can push my notifications to me in a timely manner. I know the people hub does a good job of notifications, but it doesn't have an alert to tell me someone has posted/commented.

Since I'm a newbie to WP7, I figured the best way to find answers is to post something here. Is there an app that works as well, or better, than the Facebook/Twitter apps on iOS or Android?

There are a several really good third party Twitter apps. My favorites are Mehdoh, Carbon, and Rowi. I am currently using Mehdoh, and I like it alot. Give it a try; it's free. I am not a big Facebook user, so I can't help you there.
