I just reset my phone and forgot to turn off 2 factor authentication on several accounts...

My intention was to reset my phone without restoring a backup to rule that out as a reason for some other issues I've been having.

If I choose to restore will it have saved my authentication settings on that app?
Also is there a way to backup just that app if I do restore, then I can just reset again and only restore that one app manually or something.

If you restore from a backup, the data from the app MIGHT be preserved and restored, depending on if that was originally backed up. You can not restore just one app from the phone backup, you can restore it from its own backup, if there's one.

I am not able to understand your question completely, but I hope it helps.

The two-factor stuff has alternate mechanisms over the Authenticator app. It can SMS you a code, or e-mail you a code. There may even be other ways. When you try to log in (the first time) on a new device/app it will ask for the authenticator code first, but will include a way to select one of your alternate methods.

As I recall from the last time, as long as you have your mobile number registered (and previously authenticated) against your Live account, then when you reset the phone and log in, it will take your phone number off your SIM card and match it up automatically. When you re-install the Authenticator app, you *may* need to re-authenticate that the first time, using the alternate method. You shouldn't need to Restore, and in fact that may not help anyway.

Brad.
