Factory Reset Quick Question

I understand that if I factory reset my phone, all my data will be erased, but what about firmware and software updates? Will I have to put my phone through all the updates again after I finish resting my phone?

The firmware on the phone will stay current so you won't have to update that again. You will have to download your apps again, but if you restore your backup the phone will do most of that for you.

You just lose your app data but upload to the cloud before factory resetting.
