It is done automatically....But music,videos & Images will store on their respective folders other files including documents will be stored on Downloads folder......

No I mean file downloader Applications. not using IE. their is only one I know but it is not free. file Downloader app from Megascope doesn't seem to use the Downloads folder

Yes, uc browser shows the transfer speed and also gives you the option of pause and resume...

I had never tried the background downloading, but the option is available their, so I think it supports background downloading without any problem (Background downloading didn't work on 2g network, 3g / wifi is required for this)

Thanks. downloaded files needs to be exported before you can see it in pictures/camera roll folder. So basically it doesn't support downloading directly to the downloads folder for now.
