Filezilla & FreeCommander show as background process in Task Manager - never loads

Hi. I upgraded to Windows 10 this morning.

When I try to start FileZilla, nothing happens, but it's listed in Task Manager under Background Processes. I've tried:

Uninstalling & reinstalling
Running as Administrator
Run a Windows Compatibility check - after 1.5 hours it was still running
Set the FileZilla properties to run as Windows 8 compatible
Re-booting

The same thing is happening with FreeCommander.

PeaZip hangs instantly.

These are the packages I've tested so far.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Re: Filezilla & FreeCommander show as background process in Task Manager - never loads

I'm running version 3.14 of FileZilla and am having no issues with it whatsoever. It runs just fine in Windows 10 for me with no compatibility settings whatsoever. Make sure you're up-to-date with the latest version. Mozilla did have some issues with some of their software not working at first, but things are rolling along pretty well now if you have the most up-to-date versions. I have tested both the stand-alone installation and the PortableApps version, and both are working as expected.

I'm afraid I can't help with PeaZip or FreeCommander. Haven't used those in a lot of years.

Had the same issue on xp (yeah, some of us still use that good old OS). Resolved it by finding an older version of FileZilla.
