FireTv stick is rage on Dell XPS via HDMI drive

I just purchased the Dell 27" XPS & would like to use my FireTV stick. I have put it in the HDMI drive but it is not working. What am I doing wrong or what do I need to do to get it to work?

The XPS has an HDMI out and an HDMI in, are you putting it into the right one? Also, are you externally powering the FireTV?
