Focus v1.4

I really want to get some version of Mango on my Focus r1.4 so my wife can fully experiance WP before iPhone 5 comes out.

I had problems installing the Mango RTM 7720 so I rolled back to my first backup (7004), but now the phone refuses to update back to NoDo.

If I go ahead and pay the $99 developer fee; will I still be able to get a beta update now that Mango has been released to the public (besides my Focus r1.4), or will I still be stuck here at 7004. I don't mind paying the $99 because I want to have an unlocked phone anyway, and eventually get the Tango and Apollo betas first. But, if I'm not going to get an update right away for my Focus I'll hold off another month hoping that Chevron WP7 will finally be updated.

Thanks in advance! Any ideas for helping me get my NoDo back would be appreciated. I've tried downloading the WP Support Tools, but MS took them down so I can't find them. I've also tried downloading the Walshed phone support tool, but it's not working (probably because I don't have the phone suport tool installed). I've also tried "forcing" the update and that hasn't worked. It's almost like MS turned off all updating for Focus r1.4's last week. <sigh>

I know instruction say your supposed to have at least 7392, but it's worth a shot? My phone only had 7390 and it still updated.

I have no idea why, but my original problem, the reason I restored back to factory was because the 7720 kept telling me that it didn't have an update package for my phone... So I can't use the 7720 method

Just realzed from your first post you have r1.4. I don't think any form of "forcing" will get you the update.

Delivery has begun for the HTC Surround, LG Quantum, and Samsung Focus v. 1.3. The HTC HD7S is currently Scheduling, while the Samsung Focus v. 1.4 is Testing and the Dell Venue Pro is in Planning.

MS server checks to see which h/w you have and pushes out, or in your case, will not push out the update.

I don't think you understand my issue. 1st I can't even update to NoDo, because it keeps telling me in up to date with 7004. Second I would like the developer preview beta if paying the $99 fee will get it. I know I can't get the official yet.

There is a theory they stopped all prior updates while Mango is rolling out, once your phone is available to update it will grab all prior versions as well as Mango.

ETA: I should add this is supposition culled from past posts on update day, they very well might reopen the pipe for earlier updates soon if it is in fact temporarily closed.

I'm so excited! I was thinking about getting a developer account to unlock my phone and get beta versions. When I was on the signup page (still trying to decide if I should MS my $99) I saw a student option...
Long story short: Since my wife goes to an online university I was able to use her .edu email and get a free Developer/App Hub account

Yeah... So... Even with a developer account I can't currently get past 7004 on my Focus r1.4. F u MS... F. U . Turn back on updating for us non mango worthy people...
