Forwarding An E-mail With Attachments Doesn't Forward The Attachments

So, I received an e-mail with a picture as an attachment.
I wanted the picture on my work desktop, so I forwarded the e-mail to my work account.
I checked my e-mail and the attachment was missing.
I thought it was standard functionality that reply doesn't include the attachment but forward does (it's been that way with every e-mail client that I've ever used).

You need to download the attachment first on the email. The email only downloads the headers and content and not pictures or attachments as well. This needs to be done manually.

Why I have to download the attachment in first place? I have Gmail configured and being IMAP it is forwarding email from Gmail and not from Lumia 920/Windows phone. It should not work like this. iPhone and Android already have such facility so this is a lame excuse.

Microsoft, please help!
