Game Lag with an Icon??

I have a Nokia Lumia Icon with Verizon and I have Windows Phone 8.1 running on it. I play Subway Surfers and I get SO MUCH LAG the further into the game I go! I don't understand why when I have the best processor a Windows Phone offers. If anyone can let me know what might be causing it I would appreciate it.

Check ur battery sense app and disable all the background tasks.
When u updated to wp8.1 all background tasks got enabled by auto and cld be causing lag.

The only thing running in the background is Cortana. Still lag.
