Now since we have high-res screens, what about the gaming experience?

I am seriously looking forward to buy WP8, and let's say, I plan to buy a game, will the experience be a good one. (TBH, wasn't very happy with my HD7 games.)

I shouldn't regret buying one you know...

Also, if I delete a game or, for some very strange reason, need to format my phone, will I have to repay for that game AND will I lose all my game data?

THANX!

WP8 supports back up for applists and settings so I think game data will also be backed up to the cloud but am not too sure.
And you don't have to worry about buying games again. Once you buy it it will be tied to your account and then you can download it as often as you want through that account.

As for better games. That should depend if microsoft can get all the big game developers on board. With WP8 we have all the hardware that is needed for the current top android and iOS games. Maybe we will see some at the launch of WP8 but I think the majority of said games will arrive in 2013 when the platform starts gaining traction.

You don't need to pay for any apps again now, so why would you with WP8?

Cant see anything announced with regards to backup of data.

They got EA to focus just on the MS ecosystem. which I think is a big achievement. So expect EA games exclusive on Windows phone only :)

And Oh...just struck me...Nokia could re-introduce NGAGE...

I LOVED PATHWAY TO GLORY!!!

WP8 supports C++/Direct X (allowing for easier portability with Android and iOS) and most of the cross platform gaming engines are adding support for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. Things should improve a lot on the gaming side of things.

WPCentral did a video walkthrough of the finalized emulator and SDK for WP8... In the video, they showed a settings screen which looks to be for backing up app data... Now, what would be nice is if they added that to 7.8... That would make the transition from 7 to 8 much less painful.
