GDR2/AMBER ?? Long Press Back Button and getting rid of open aps

I could have sworn that I read somewhere that once the update hit one could "flick" away open aps to close them once you long pressed the back button.

Was that just a hope and dream not realized??

GDR3 supposedly will bring an "x" button to the multitasking screen.
