GDR2 update & HTC 8S

With all the fuzz going around the latest big update to Windows 8.1 which will be apparently coming to developer preview on october 8th, what do you guys think we will get out of it (if anything)?

Well, for official updates I know for sure?

I think we will get nothing. Zero. Nil. Null.
And I give the same amount of trust to HTC when I buy my next phone.

HTC 8S will get official firmware update for WP8.1 and it seems Developer Preview has just enabled GDR1 support on 8S.
