GDR3 and Notification Screen

Will this release see a notification area?

I do not believe so...the current guess is that they will release this with WP8.1 which is due early in 2014.
It's hard to tell what the plans are...most "experts" seem to believe that WIN8 RT and WP8 will combine into the same OS (makes sense). If this is the case and they are doing this now, it's easily explainable why things are not getting released too quickly as combining to OS departments must be a nightmare.
