I upgraded my Lumia 1020 to the preview yesterday. I left my phone off the charger overnight and woke up with only 3% drain over 7 hours. Also, the current usage rate is 0.87%

Is the battery reporting screwed or has the performance really improved?

I have 3 email accounts syncing every 30 minutes, glance on peek and double tap to unlock. have a bunch of apps with background tasks enabled (battery, bing news, bing weather, caledos runner, das image, whatsapp)

3% battery drain in 7 hours?! wow, that is impressive with all that background things going on! I get 3% (at best) in an hour just sitting idle with dgr2! Tempted to download gdr3 now!

My 920 dropped 5% overnight, a slight improvement from gdr2 under the same conditions. Too early to tell, will report more later on.

Same here. Phone dropped about 5% too. I have NL822.

My NL720 didnt drop at all at night for over 8 hours. I have minimal background running apps and my data network was turned off.
How every before the GDR3 is would drop by atleast 2%

My 920 on GDR3 dropped from 88% to 83% in 8 hours during the night.

Need more time to test battery life but it seems it's improved compared to GDR2.

3 hrs still in 100%, i used my 720 in setting up some setting and in texting...

Something's not right... Charged my Lumia 820 over night, disconected it arround 7a.m. and at 11a.m. it has only 46%!!! I didn't even touched the phone in that time!!

Battery life on my 720 got worse after the update. Hope MS fixes this before they release it to the public.

I think it's improved a little....Today, 1 call, and 3 texts with using Weave for about 20 min, MLB app for about 2 min and checked 2 email accounts at least 3 times, I pulled my 928 off the charger around 6:30 this morning, it's 9:43 and I have only used 3% it's saying 97% free.....

Not bad, by this point during the day I would normally be around 83-90% by this point.

Unless the battery reading is wrong and I cant be more accurate till I use it for a few days but, so far, if the numbers are right, it looks like it helped.

If your still having problems with the battery, I might suggest to give your phone a reboot (after the completed message came up, I rebooted it again "vol down+power" for 10 seconds) and then report back.

I thought my battery was good, for the first 30min didn't lose any battery, but since it's gone back to normal, 12-14% per hour without the most amount of usage (which has been bugging me recently). I hoped the battery would get better but no joy from my side, went down to 20% after around 6hrs. :unhappy:

My 720 takes ages to fully charge after the update too!

Yeah, it seems that battery is better (based on 1 day experience with Lumia 920):

Remaining battery: 74 %
Estimated time remaining: 25 hours
Time since last charge: 10 hours (all day time, no night time)

Data, WLAN (wi-fi), fb chat enabled and in use ...
