Big whoop- hit the X to close an app. Is that the best MS can do? I know it is getting ready for higher res screens, but new or improved features- virtually nothing. MS had better step up its game and fast.

Also, why can't WP8 have an IE reader like in iOS, or text reflow in the browser as in Android? Even failing BB10 had a reader in the browser.

GDR's have been more about allowing different types of hardware compared to a lot of new software features. Expect more features out of 8.1

In 2013 you would think features like being able to watch movies and videos purchased on Xbox Music and Videos on our phones(don't get me started on the fact that we can't rent and watch Xbox Music and Videos content directly on our phones) would be more of a priority than a lot of these other features. It's really a shame. Actually for me, this is the only feature sorely missing from Windows Phone besides a more competitive app ecosystem. But I'm hanging in there with Microsoft.

I don't see how it's disappointing. They delivered on exactly what they said they would, and there were plenty screen shots and video leaks prior to its release that showed it's features. If you built up unfounded expectations, then you only have yourself to blame.

Now windows phone 8.1 is a different story- if they STILL haven't included the ability to do a global search of text messages (hurts not being able to search texts on a daily basis), documents, apps, contacts, emails, etc. all from a single window (like you can on just about every other major platform), then I'll be very disappointed. Also hoping for a built in timer/stopwatch cuz all the 3rd party options suck compared to a native option, but after 3 years I'm feeling that's beyond unlikely it'll be added lol.
