I have no issue with the OS (other than its willingness to give up on downloading apps and tracks) but as I said on another thread - am disappointed with the actual device. Having to take off the back and remove the battery to install the SIM card is very retro or cheap. The case also squeaks when given a gentle squeeze in either bottom corner - I googled this and found I wasn't alone. This just should not be an issue, it's almost like MS wants this to fail so that once the Surface phone appears it will be the only model of device they will offer and there'll only be one or two SKUs per year following Apples business model.

Your joking i hope! Having access to battery and being able to change the back cover is awesome i think. All the aluminum fetish everyone are having is beyond me. I do have both iphone 6 and LG G4 and just ordered the 950. One reason i like this phone is due to the fact it has the plastic cover offering removable battery and SD. I do hate the iPhone aluminum, i always have a case on i because it scratches sooooo easily and looks awe full.

Also, don't for get 950/950XL has wireless charging and it works GREAT too. I honestly have no clue why so many BoooHoooing going on. my wife and i LOVE out 950 and 950XL. what these phns offers, you can't get on any other phns. One thing ppl don't seem to understand, Win10 on these phns are not 100% and still will get more updates in upcoming weeks. some people have no patients whatsoever. My phn frozen 2 times so far. who cares. I took the battery out and reset the phn. WOW that was so hard. other than that its been working great. there are so many cool features on these phns that i LOVE, and my 1520 did not have.

Did I say anything about the ability to remove the battery being a negative? No. What I said was having to remove the battery to install the SIM was very retro. Also, I don't know what you've been doing to scratch your previous phones 'soooo easily' but I have had both my 920 and 930 since their launch and they both still look great, neither of which have protective cases - both have had their fair share of bumps and drops.

I agree that the case back isn't wonderful. It did feel decidedly flimsy and fragile when I was taking the back off to insert the SIM and DC card. Considering that this action is the first thing that many people will do with the phone, it's not really a superb introduction.

Having said that, this is my only gripe with an otherwise superb device. In looking through this thread yesterday, I didn't see a huge amount of actual problems with this phone, it's more of a chat area for people complaining.

hopefully new people looking at this thread won't assume that the volume of posts here means there's huge problems with this device.

I just got my 950 XL and I am loving it, being running WM 10 on my 930 but it is so much smoother on the 950 xl.
The duel sim and continuum sold it from me. I would like MS to get payments sorted but for now I can put my contactless card into the Mozo case and just pretend it is part of the phone. (it on order) I think there is no perfect phone yet. But I do think the first one to reach perfection will be WP10.
Apple will never reach perfection and even if they did they would still be too expensive. That is one thing apple will never do.
MS just need to close the App gap which I think the will do with universal apps and add payments then job is done.

Pretty much most of this thread is complaining about Windows 10. Something that just about everyone is forgetting is that Windows 10 Mobile has moved to a model of constant updates and improvements and that it has to start somewhere.

Everyone is forgetting that things get fixed as a direct result of Windows Feedback items
Everyone is forgetting that cool things are added as a direct result of the Windows Feedback items

Everyone is forgetting that Devs will not support this platform and that microsoft has done everything they can to get these guys on board which if Devs supported this platform would get folks vested more into the ecosystem which will cause growth and even better software, app, and hardware experience everyone is forgetting this.

And everyone is forgetting that this thread is about the 950XL and simply dumping their negativity on this thread along with all the rest of the negative threads.

The options are simple. If you no longer like Windows Phone, move to another platform.
If you like Windows Phone, stick with it and move forwards

We can still like the platform but point out the flaws. Heck we don't even know if Microsoft is aware of missing VVM on the dual sim 950XL since they have no official statement regarding it. I mean it's their flagship phone and they cant even tell us the technical reason for a basic feature being missing and whether it will ever be corrected. Sticking with it doesn't mean bending over and taking what MS sees fit to give you, especially on a $600+ device.

I don't get why people think that you do not have a right to complain about poor services from companies last I checked if you spent money for something you have the right to point out the bad we are not here to talk about how daum happy everything is lets get real where this guy has a point stop vilifying people because they point out flaws.

The same people on here asking folks to not say bad things or be quick to point out a flaw would be the same person in line at the store going off if they bought a TV got it home and it didn't do what it advertised , how about I am the guy at that works are the store and tell you to turn around and go home and give the TV some time to work it self out since they are smart TV's now you wouldn't go for it. So lets not try to hush folks or vilify someone because they have issues or point out something crappy.

GUNBUST3R keep posting bro and point out the crap thats what being real is and its the only way companies know what is going wrong.

It's because the people posting all the bad things are saying it like everyone is also seeing those issues, which is not true, and this could scare away users. Yes, they should be informed there are issues, but to keep pounding it in their faces just scares them away. And the platform DESPARATELY needs users, so why people trying to drive them away?

I keep seeing the same thread over and over about the same issues. File feedback, but stop duplicating the threads and comments, it gets no where, and is just hurting the platform.

I hear you but do you honestly think that a comment on a forum can hurt the platform? I don't think so you know why because anyone who comes to this forum and reads that there are issues whether it be App support, Hardware, or just Microsoft being MSFT If anything they know this coming in all you need is a computer type in WM and look at marketshare it would be way over 1% if this was a good or great platform (great doesn't exist they all have issues) that blaring number (marketshare) would tell me turn away turn away now faster than reading any comment.

The last thing I would be worried about after spending my money is me possibly turning someone off to a platform because I have issues. Said person can read clearly and see that some are having no issues and some are hell check the headlines on WC website if Daniel did not type it most likely hasn't gone full nuclear being a big issue but rather sporadic.

Again we should't try to sensor and vilify people because they have issues with something they bought. If Bill Gates can take bad about something windows is doing I am sure we can. IJS to each his or her own but everyone has the right to complain about a product you do it and so do I and if you had issues you would be doing the same.

The big problem here is people are griping about the OS in a sub-forum for the phone. They need to head over to the WM10 section.

I do not think the phone and OS can be separated entirely. I do not think you need censorship to avoid loss either.

I am with you cracgor. I returned my 950XL after 2 days because I found out it doesn't support visual voicemail and couldn't get an answer from AT&T or Microsoft if it ever would. That is an important feature for business travelers. I hate to admit it because I have been a WP evangelist since WP7, but I replaced my 950XL with a $399 Moto X Pure Edition and it was a better phone experience out of the box. I am going to wait for the Surface Phone to be released and then go back to WP10.

hinge, there's a fix for the squeaking issue. Just don't squeeze the bottom corners.
Once you find the squeak, you can't stop making it happen! I found one solution, plug in the USB cable. Found another solution on reddit although I wouldn't dare use it for fear the warranty would be invalid should it catch fire!

I have seen posters here who aren't the most tech literate, and the site is more popular than you seem to realize.

If you really cared about the platform and wanted it to succeed, you would care about turning people off of the platform.

My main issue is all these posts with complaints that have already been voiced (not in a method of like someone asking to confirm their issue), without providing a solution, making it seem they are complaining for complaining sake. Sure it helps them vent, but it isn't productive.
