The launch of both HTC and Nokia WP8 phones was filled with not only great specs but also very colorful phones that were suppose to get us out of the "black phone" world. So fast forward to late November ........ with a few exceptions....try buying with in-stock delivery.... a blue, yellow, red phone from either of these two. Black yes....color no. With the new Samsung WP8 just a few weeks away, guess I'll wait and see if they can do any better (of course they will not be a color choice.....but chrome is nice !)
Yes, some of the pre-order folks got colors, but in this economy, you would think the idea would be to sell as many good quality, good looking phones as possible.....guess not

I'd rather wait for a colorful Nokia than settle for a bland Samsung, though that is just me.

I think extreme demand for their product is not a reason to 'give up' on HTC and Nokia. You can still get a coloured phone - but at this point, you'll need to wait.

I agree with Hammered Pizza.

I'm sure that the colorful HTCs and Nokias will be arriving soon.

I might be in the minority for Windows Phone users (soon to be at least), but I ordered black intentionally... It's the only color that isn't trendy and subject to being outdated, doesn't wear terribly over time, and I don't need it drawing attention to the electronics I may leave on my desk by being a (beautiful) huge red brick on my desk.

Just works out right for me.

Buuuut - I understand being bent about that... But it's supply and demand, the colors are going quick because they're popular, or the manufacturers didn't anticipate them selling as well as they have, and made less stock. You'll have your chance, I know that carrier stores receive shipments on a somewhat regular basis - I would suggest staying in contact with a few local stores until you finally find the one you'd like!

I think the manufacturers underestimated the demand for the colorful devices. They probably thought more users prefer black or white devices, like you do.

I always liked cell phones and smartphones in any color as long as it were black until I saw the Lumia 900. That's the first phone I've ever owned that was not black.

Black is pass?, but it is a safe choice. I figure I can afford to live a little when I get a new phone.

If you really want a unique phone, get a customized phone sticker from one of the online stores. Or you can grab a color case. Giving up on a phone due to colors not being available seems a bit melodramatic.
