Glance Bar Not Working

Hello. I've got the glance bar and notification options turned on but I can't seem to get the glance bar working. It only displays the time when I press the lock button when the phone is folded shut. It will not display the battery level while charging or the volume level. Has anyone else got this issue?

I've just realised the battery level on the glance bar appears when I plug in the power cable and won't appear again until I remove the power cable. Is that normal? Or is there a way to bring up the battery level while it's charging?

Mine has always only displayed the charge level on the glance bar as you described (when plugging and unplugging) from what I have read this is the wau it normally acts and when I was looking months ago there was no work around, 3rd party or otherwise.

Thanks for your reply. It looks like my glance bar is working as it should. I thought it worked differently to what I was expecting.
