Gmail in new IE

The gmail appearance in new IE has totally changed. Have a look, it looks like the gmail app

Thanks Yes the website now thinks IE is Safari and is rendering the image much better

Not sure but I would think Microsoft would rather have their customers satisfied with the product and gain better market share for Windows Phone than gain share for IE much less the mobile IE.
