It is $15 for now, but in the coming months (forgot the date she said as I just wanted to get off the phone with them) new contracts and renews on those plans would now come with a $40 instead of $15 per phone fee. It was from my att supervisor as we were discussing the new plan terms. So besides just what I said, I have no source, but I'm sure its posted somewhere on the internet.

That exists NOW, if you upgrade (or sign a new contract) w subsidy on a Family Share plan - your per device charge for the sub'd phone goes up to $40 per month for the length of the contract (taking this is beyond STUPID).

Buy unlocked, third party (eBay, Amazon) or NEXT to avoid the upcharge ... unless this is an AT&T price increase (which will lead to mass attrition !)

The date referenced may coincide with contracts (grandfathered into $15 per device) expiring, looking for new sub'd device. I believe the cutoff was earlier this year (February 2nd ??) for in contract switch to Family Share plans w discount on per device.

bears watching ....

They shot me down 3 times even though I only average 6GB a month. They now have 10 to 15GB without having to go though much dial 611, press 4, press 4, and just tell them you want the 15GB deal. took less than 2 minutes
