Got phone --- what now?

Got my Lumia 640 XL yesterday and been playing with it.

Removed some apps from the main screen that I won't use.
Entered some contacts / phone numbers

It says it is running Windows 8.1 update 2

I'm a Windows Insider and wondering if I should wait for my phone to ask for permission to update to Windows 10 or go through the Insider to update the phone ( or can I even do that? )? I will ask on Insider but I thought I would ask here too.

Just wondering what I should do next.

There is so much to this thing. Amazing how they cram a whole computer into a phone.

I would suggest if it's your first windows phone keep it on 8.1 for some time to get used to it and download the Windows Phone Recovery tool (needed to revert back to 8.1 is you go to W10)

The official Wim10 Mobile will still take some time to release and the current build is okay but not perfect.
But you can download the Windows insider app on your phone and update to the preview.
