Is it the phone or is it Windows 10? If it's Windows 10, and yes I know it's not finished, I'm a lot less enthusiastic about the new phones.

Probably both. I had W10M on mine about 4 months ago and rolled back almost immediately.

Ran like crap on my L635 until I did a hard reset. Then it ran perfectly fine, and even faster in a few areas of BaseMark and Antutu compared to WP8.1.

I installed the wp10 and did a hard reset. After that I updated all apps and now wp10 runs very smooth :) sometimes I think even better than on wp8.1! (note: I got the 1gb version of the 635)

Same here: First rollback to WP8.1 and now runs smooth Win10 Mobile latest Insider build with 1Gb RAM.

Yes, my 635 is running like a dog too, even after a hard reset. When trying to use Groove Music, the phone is all but useless. I think it's time for us to realize that Windows 10 Mobile requires quite a bit more brain and brawn than what the 635 has (512 MB Ram version, at least). And I suppose that I have no room for complaint seeing how I paid $29 for this phone.

The hard reset did the trick for me as well, I'm running the latest Windows 10 Mobile build on the 512MB version and it runs like a charm, I'd even tend to say, that it runs equally good as 8.1 for me, but only after the latest build.

That's good to read. For myself I will wait as long as possible since 8.1 works great for me and I prefer not to be a guinea pig for new software problems. I wonder how long it will be possible to stick with 8.1?

Yes, try the latest build. I no longer use my 635 as my main phone, only back up or around the house on wifi, but it works great on the latest build (absent things like Hey Cortana etc that it can't handle).
