Had all my music on Windows 7 as mp3 but cannot play on Windows 10?

Does Windows 10 support mp3 or do I have to convert to mp4?

I finally upgraded my windows 7 to windows 10. All of my songs when I was still using windows 7 was played in the windows media player (.wmp I think) but when I tried to play them again after upgrading to windows 10, they couldn't be played anymore in any programs. Also, it changed from windows media player to MP3. Please help me as I did not backup any of it in any other storage device.
