Half Life 3 =(

i know this question has been answered on google. But as somewhat closely attached to this game i am often stricken by the question of half life 3, the final chapter . There is a end to the story. What publishers do actually leave such a profitable franchise, like half life 3 which can and will sell a billion in a night of its launch.

will the series ever get a revival?

I heard a theory about how Half Life 3 is Valve's "break glass in case of emergency" contingency plan as well as being worried about the game being ridiculously overhyped to where expectations may be astronomically high. I believe it.

There are multiple theories on the Internet, but with so many discrepancies that none of them seems to be actually true.

What's will be left of a franchise if they pull the plug in the middle and keep it safe to hold there ground in crisis. I believe they might bring in half life 3 with VR. That's possible imo as Gabe Newell has hinted earlier that the next half life will be bigger more interactive and immersive.
